The Aqualab provides water quality managers with a cost effective, reliable alternative to all presently available methods of water analysis.
The Aqualab system performs a wide range of chemical and physical analysis regimes, automatically and unattended in the field, with a level of performance equivalent to certified laboratory analysis.
Real time measurement and validation of field analyses by on-board reference standards delivers an unmatched level of confidence in the results obtained.
The precision performance of Aqualab is provided at a fraction of the cost-per-analysis of a typical grab sampling and laboratory analysis program.
The Aqualab is complemented by a range of optional installation and communication packages. For monitoring programs in seawater, rivers, dams, lakes or in industrial environments, the Aqualab can be configured for optimum performance to meet site specific conditions. Remote control of all operating parameters and data retrieval are available with all of the communication package options.
System versatility is enhanced by software which
enables users to pre-set monitoring intervals, trigger levels and alarm
functions. Users can automatically obtain the most valuable data during
significant events. System interrogation and programming of individual
sensor monitoring frequencies can be conducted at any time. On-board data
storage provides additional systems support to the facility of remote retrieval
and computer storage of results.

| Suitable for operation with high sediment load or dirty waters. | |
| Choice of programmable monitoring regimes including event and alarm triggering. | |
| Single or multiple intake lines which can be fixed or floating. Provides for continuous monitoring programs at several point locations. | |
| Packaging and installation options to meet a variety of site conditions. | |
| Communication options cover all facilities for data transfer and system control by cellular phone, radio and satellite. | |
| Windows based user interface which provides graphical and tabular results display on a remote PC terminal. |
Also, single reference standards for confirmation of sensor performance in the determination of pH and Electrical Conductivity are included.
In addition, the Aqualab includes on-board chemical reagents required for sample modifications (adjusts pH to greater than 11) in the analysis of Ammonia. Also included are the reagents for ortho-Phosphate determination, based on a reaction which forms a Phospho-Molybdate (blue colour) complex, the same chemistries as performed in the standard laboratory method.
De-Ionised water and a cleaning solution complete
the chemical reagents packages. The system will automatically backflush
and clean the analytical train and intake lines ensuring a clean system
between analyses.

The Mobile Telephone Communications Package includes a MNP10 modem and data interface for transmission at 9600 Baud.
Landline communication is interfaced with an MNP10 modem.
Satellite network communication permits relay of
data to a central control station by the Inmarsat-C Satellite. Includes
an Inmarsat-C Transceiver, Modac Model MD300 interface unit, solar panels,
power controller, batteries and weatherproof cabinet.
Greenspan Technical Services offers a combination of experience, knowledge and skills which cover all aspects of environmental and water related data collection, in addition to specialist expertise in all aspects of Aqualab installations and associated technologies.
The selection of the correct configuration of Aqualab and the design and implementation of the most suitable monitoring program for water related research is paramount to the success of any field program. Of equal importance is correct installation of all packages and a comprehensive program of operator training.
The resources within Greenspan Technical Services
division encompass all aspects of total water quality management, before,
during and after installation.
