485 Network / Lan
Communication Module
Turbidity Pump (auto-cleaner)
Where
multiple sensors need to be connected together at the same site, the KAIOO
LAN adaptor implements a multipoint RS485 network. By daisy chaining a
series of KA lOO's together, each sensor on the network can be individually
controlled and data uploaded to a central computer. The KA 100 uses twisted
pair cable for communication and powering. The unit can also be solar powered
if required.
Using
a modem and cellular telephone for remote connection to series-300 sensors
is made possible with the MA100 (standard) and MA200 (for the Smart SONDE)
adaptors. Each is a fully self-contained remote communication module with
built in cellular phone, data interface and modem. The MA series also provide
a sampler or turbidity pump output, a 5 Amp relay output or external modem
and cellular phone outputs. Input options include a rain gauge and two
4-20mA inputs (for the Smart SONDE). All ingoing and outgoing supply lines
are protected with user accessible fuses.
For
users of Greenspan's Turbidity Sensor, the TP100 Turbidity Pump provides
reliable cleaning of the sensor lens, preventing fouling due to algal growth.
An intelligent pump control unit automatically turns on the pump for a
predetermined time (typically 2 seconds several times per day), directing
a high pressure jet of water across the lens. The unit can be triggered
by a host data logger or the sampler output from a 300 series sensor.
