SDI-12 Depth Sensor
Offering better
than 0.01 foot accuracy, these are the same sensors as used extensively
by the Oregon Water Resource Department. These sensors are available with
either a 4--20mA (slightly less accurate), or SDI-12 interface, are temperature
compensated, vented, and are less than 1 1/4 inches in diameter. Constructed
of stainless steel, all internal parts are conformal coated for further
protection. Resolution is better than 0.001 foot and readings for both
level and water temperature can be logged. 4-20mA Units are available in
ranges from 3.5 feet of water up to 350 feet.
The SDI-12 Depth
Sensor provides both depth and temperature signals. Designed for use with
any 4-20mA or SDI-12 data logger.
TYPICAL APPLICATIONS
Many applications
involve the replacement of older mercury manometer systems, where there
is still a need to provide onsite chart recording via a mechanical drive
output. The SDI Depth Sensor and AxSys MPU are both fully compatible with
the Stevens Electro ChartDrive (ECD) unit. This unit monitors the SDI-12
signals to determine a depth reading from the sensor. This is then translated
into a mechanical shaft output for driving chart recorders such as the
Stevens A-71.
