Beamex QCAL® Calibration System

The Beamex QCAL® Calibration System helps different instrumentation professionals in many ways. The use of the QCAL® System speeds up the calibration work while ensuring reliable storage of calibration results. The System is designed to deal with the calibration of process instruments, scheduling calibrations, storing and saving the calibration results and finally providing printed certificates.

The Beamex QCAL® system comprises of both hardware and software. Beamex provides a range of "smart" portable calibrators (temperature, pressure, electric) and calibration stations for work shops.

Beamex's "smart" portable and workshop calibrators communicate with the PC based Calibration Management Software. This powerful and versatile calibration management software is available for DOS or windows.

The Beamex QCAL® System's modular construction offers flexibility: the system can be tailored to fulfill different requirements for efficiency and budget constraints. Any basic system can later be expanded to respond to growing requirements for calibration system.

Increased Productivity

Thanks to the unique features in the calibration equipment, the actual calibration work is accomplished more than 5 times faster with Beamex calibrators than with "conventional" calibration equipment.

The calibration results are automatically logged into the memory of the calibrators which additionally speeds up the calibration work by approximately 2 times. The person calibrating does not need to manually record the results in any way.

Reliable Calibration

With Beamex calibrators, the calibration is performed with traceable calibration equipment. All Beamex calibrators represent state of the art technology providing an accuracy that is fully adequate to be used with modern process instruments. The built-in features of the calibrators ensure the correct execution of the actual calibration procedure.

As the calibrators log the calibration results, the user can be sure that the correct results are logged for further analysis. Also, the calibrators guide the user through the calibration procedure.

Scheduling of Calibrations

The calibration database software will give extremely valuable help in the planning of the calibration work. The software offers ease of use, the versatile search functions and the possibility to list the instruments due for calibration. The search parameters are virtually unlimited.

The calibration database software efficiently helps to organize the man power needed.

Storing Calibration Results

The calibration results are loaded from the calibrator to the calibration database software via the RS232 interface port in just a few seconds thus further increasing the productivity.

Even if the calibration results are normally registered automatically in the memory of the calibrator and then loaded into the calibration management software, it can, if necessary, be manually entered via the computer keyboard. This can be necessary for some special instruments, such as analyzers, tachometers etc...

Documentation

The calibration database software will provide all required documentation with regard to the calibration procedures, the process instruments, the calibration equipment, the critical instruments and the calibration test reports. All important data is stored in one location.

The software stores the history of the instruments and their calibrations. The documentation is easily obtained using the versatile report function. A performance curve for any instrument can be displayed/printed with the calibration test report.

Trend analysis

The performance curve in the calibration history program tells how a certain instrument has performed over a certain period of time. This data allows the user to easily determine whether the calibration cycle should be modified for a certain instrument.

The history functions of the QCAL® software makes it easy to follow the performance of a certain brand or model of instrument. Thus valuable experience and data of various instruments and their installation is obtained.

The valuable history data naturally helps with the planning of future projects.
